Announcing Our Plenaries

This year’s Annual Forum – our 5th consecutive annual event – is a particularly special event for us. Reflecting both the increasing strength and maturity of the Forum for Open Research in MENA, and the specialised topic which is the theme of this year’s event, we have decided to build a conference programme which is predominantly comprised of special invited plenary speakers.

Joining us online from across the Arab world, these plenary speakers will share a range of viewpoints and insights concerning the important question of resilience in our research cultures during times of crisis and conflict. The plenaries are divided into four specialised panels:

  • Open Science During Times of Crisis
  • Open Science During Times of Recovery
  • Building Resilience With Open Science
  • Long Term Strategies and Outlooks

We are hugely grateful and honoured that these plenary speakers have agreed to participate in this year’s Annual Forum, helping us to bring a range of voices together from across the Arab world.

We hope you will join us at these plenary sessions, taking place on the 19th of October 2026. For more details of the Plenary Speakers and our Agenda, please do visit our website here, or our registration page to reserve your spot.
