As a relatively new initiative and one, moreover, seeking to provide support for a diverse range of stakeholder groups across 22 different states, each with their own complex set of challenges and capacities, it can sometimes be difficult to know what to prioritise. This is especially true when it comes to Open Science – which encompasses a multifaceted array of concepts, approaches and techniques.

That is why it is such a pleasure to be able to partner and collaborate with a wide range of national and regional organisations. We are all working towards the common goal of a more open and knowledgeable world, supporting the Arab region in its transition towards more accessible, inclusive and sustainable research and education models. However, each organisation offers a unique perspective and provides support in specific areas or for specific demographics – and the wider our collaborative network becomes, the more we can achieve.

Therefore, it is a particular pleasure to welcome two new member organisations to FORM. The Open Science Community Iraq (OSCI) and the Africa Reproducibility Network (AREN)

Open Science Community Iraqi (OSCI) aims to provide a place where newcomers and experienced peers interact, inspire each other to embed open science practices and values in their workflows and provide feedback on policies, infrastructures, and support services.

The African Reproducibility Network (AREN), a member of the international family of Reproducibility Networks (RN), is a community-led initiative that seeks to bridge the gaps in open science advocacy and adoption across Africa.

We are honoured to have their trust, and welcome their commitment and support for our activities and mission. We look forward to supporting their missions and activities in the future, and helping both organisations grow and gain global visibility and recognition.

Membership of FORM is institutional or organisational, and free. We simply ask members to join us in working towards the advancement and implementation of open science policies and practises across the Arab region and within their own entity.
