We’re pleased to introduce Almayzab Digital Library as the newest member of the Forum for Open Research in MENA (FORM). Based in Sudan, Almayzab joins our network with a shared goal of expanding access to knowledge and strengthening research connections across the region. The initiative reflects a clear dedication to openness and collaboration, and we look forward to building on that through joint projects and shared learning.
Almayzab Digital Library is a Sudan-based initiative dedicated to making research and cultural materials openly accessible. The platform offers academic works, educational resources, and curated documentation of cultural heritage, responding to a real and ongoing need for reliable, openly available knowledge infrastructures. In contexts where access to physical libraries or subscription databases may be limited, initiatives like Almayzab play a vital role in supporting learning continuity, intellectual exchange, and research participation.
The project reflects a wider movement towards locally stewarded, sustainable knowledge ecosystems, systems built not only to store information, but to connect people to it in meaningful ways. By centring community contribution, regional relevance, and long-term preservation, Almayzab represents a model of open research development that is grounded, resilient, and deeply aligned with FORM’s values.
