Open infrastructure — shared research systems and tools needed to support open science — are critical to advancing research reproducibility, transparency, accessibility, and equity. This session, led by Dr. Emmy Tsang and Jerry Sellanga at Invest in Open Infrastructure (IOI), will explore how institutions can adopt open infrastructures to further open science, collaboration, and research impact at their institution. Participants will also learn to use Infra Finder, IOI’s open infrastructure discovery and evaluation tool, to find open infrastructures that meet their needs.
This 1.5 hour session, “Open Infrastructure for Research and Scholarship” is designed for leadership and decision makers at institutions, including but not limited to library, IT, and faculty staff.
Participants will:
- Learn more about open infrastructure for research and scholarship — what they are, what are the benefits of using open infrastructure, and the latest developments in the field.
- Explore and identify open infrastructure options that meet your needs using Infra Finder, and share your feedback to help improve the tool.
- Discuss challenges and opportunities to further the adoption of open infrastructure at your institution and community.
