Announcing Our Leadership Panel

Although we are a regional initiative seeking to advance open science policy and practise across the Arab States, and promote regional collaboration and community engagement – we also think it is important to recognise individual local needs, challenges and strategies. That is why, as we hold our Annual Forum in a different Arab State each year, we like to provide a platform for the leading stakeholder’s in our host country’s research community to share their challenges, discuss their strategies and showcase their successes.

This year, thanks to our wonderful host partner the Qatar National Library, we have convened an outstanding panel of experts for the Qatar Leadership Panel, who will contribute to a thought-provoking and powerful discussion surrounding the development and implementation of a range of policies and practises related to Open Science activities, from a variety of different perspectives and stakeholder groups.

Our panellists will include: Tan Huism, Executive Director – Qatar National Library, Qatar; Dr. Aiman Erbad, Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies – Qatar University, Qatar; Dr. Khalid Fakhro, Chief Research Officer – Sidra Medicine, Qatar; and Rosena Nhlabatsi, Senior Intellectual Property Policy Expert – Qatar Research, Development and Innovation Council, Qatar.

Their insights and expertise will offer a valuable contribution to this year’s conference theme: Transforming Knowledge into Action.  We hope you will all join us in person or online, and enjoy this highlight of our packed scientific programme (with 68 speakers, 23 scientific sessions, 12 networking events, and 2 high-impact workshops).

For more details of the 3rd Annual Forum, taking place online and in-person on 21-24 October (in partnership with the Qatar National Library), please visit the Annual Forum website.
