Although we might be running a little bit later than usual, we are now ready to announce our Call for Papers for the 4th Annual Forum for Open Research!
This year’s Annual Forum will take place in the UAE, in partnership with the American University of Sharjah, in the Emirate of Sharjah, UAE, from 20th-23rd of October. (Learn more about our Host Partner here)
We are really excited about this year’s event especially as, in a wonderful synergy, our theme of Becoming Open: Capacity Building and Community Collaboration in the Arab World is perfectly aligned with the UAE’s declaration that 2025 is the Year of Community!
The theme for this year, with its emphasis on building our open science communities and developing our open science capacities, reflects the overarching message of last year’s Annual Forum concerning the need to collaborate as individuals, as institutions, as communities and countries – within our local environment and as a region.
We are aiming to have a diverse and engaging programme of events, including panel presentations, moderated roundtables, and workshops. If you want to attend and present, but do not currently have a new case study to share, please consider collaborating with other members of our network to propose a roundtable discussion on one of our key themes!
The full Call for Papers can be accessed here, the deadline for submissions is 1st June 2025, and we will provide a response in early July following review by the Advisory Committee.
In addition, you can see the draft programme here, along with further details about the event venue and logistical essentials.
We hope you will join us at the 4th Annual Forum, at the American University of Sharjah, and together we can work towards a more open, and knowledgeable, Arab world!
