Some of our team (our Director Emily, our Community Engagement Manager Nahil, and our Event Manager Lissette) visited beautiful Doha, in Qatar last week. It was fantastic to meet so many potential partners and discuss possible collaborations and future joint projects.

Qatar is a regional leader in the promotion of Open Science, particularly with regards to Open Access (launching the first Open Access journals in the GCC) and the innovative approaches to funding Open Access publications by its citizens, as well as the strong support for national repository developments.

It was a wonderful trip, and we are in awe of Education City with its striking architecture and beautiful gardens. It is truly amazing to see how collaborative the research community is in Doha, and how enthusiastic and proactive the libraries and universities are with regards to the advancement of Open Science within their own institutions and across the whole country!
