As a new initiative, one of our biggest challenges is to develop a broad community of experts who can provide guidance and practical support to our members and stakeholders concerning the wide array of issues and developments relating to the implementation of open science policies and practices in research institutions. This is one of the reasons why we have two types of membership, one for research institutions and research communities in the Arab States, and one for non-profit organisations from across the globe who work to support the advancement of open science (our Strategic Partner Membership).

We are delighted to announce that we now have four Strategic Partner Members, and we want to extend our huge gratitude to the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), cOAlition S, the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), and the Open Access Directory (OAD) for agreeing to join FORM and support our mission and goals. We look forward to working with them in the coming months and years to help support the advancement of Open Science across the Arab world.
