We are pleased to welcome the RCSI Medical University of Bahrain as the newest member of the Forum for Open Research in MENA (FORM). This partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening access to knowledge, supporting responsible research practices, and encouraging collaboration across the region’s scholarly and medical communities.
RCSI Bahrain has established a distinctive role in the Gulf’s medical education landscape, bringing together teaching, clinical training, and research activity within an institution shaped by international standards and regional priorities. The Library & Learning Resource Centre forms an essential part of this work, providing resources that support evidence-informed learning and helping to build a culture where information is accessible, reliable, and connected to real clinical and research needs.
As interest in open science continues to grow throughout the health sciences, RCSI Bahrain’s membership comes at an important moment. The university’s focus on equitable access to medical knowledge, responsible data use, and research visibility aligns closely with FORM’s mission to support open, community-driven research ecosystems across the Arab region.
“By joining the Forum for Open Research in MENA, RCSI Bahrain strengthens its commitment to advancing open science within the medical and health sciences. This collaboration supports our mission to foster equitable access to medical knowledge, enhance research visibility, and contribute to evidence-based healthcare practices across the region.” – Dr. Bindhu Nair, Head of Library, RCSI Medical University of Bahrain
We look forward to working with our colleagues at RCSI Bahrain through joint activities, shared learning, and initiatives that support stronger pathways for open, transparent, and impactful medical research.
