In this 1-hour workshop, hosted in collaboration with the Open Science Community Iraq, the Open Science Community Egypt, and the African Reproducibility Network, we aimed to broaden the horizons of researchers and academics on the concept and practices of open science, and how to integrate it into their research paths and scientific studies.
The workshop provided valuable and practical information on how to apply and adopt open science practices, and how to make the most of them in enhancing scientific research and deepening academic communication.
The “How To Be Open Series: Researchers” workshop was hosted in Arabic. However, we are working to include English subtitles to the video to make it more accessible, and will upload them soon.
What you will learn:
- A preliminary analysis of the motivations for the open science movement, and an explanation of its multiple benefits for the scientific and research community.
- Exploring the use of open sources and open reviews in scientific research, and highlighting how to enhance the quality of research and studies through them.
- Highlighting the importance of making scientific research available throughout the research life cycle from the planning stage to the publication of the final results.
- Providing strategies for joining and participating in open science communities and specialized scientific societies, in addition to exploring the opportunities available.
- Reviewing the non-traditional opportunities through which researchers and academics can enhance their academic careers, including the use of digital platforms and the establishment of scientific blogs.
